Report 9/25

Fishing

Rain! Rain! Rain! thats all there has been and it doesn't seem like it wants to stop, luckily the fish are already wet! With all this recent rain the water has been very dirty which as negatively affected the bite. When the water is dirty those fish cant see a thing! So throw on those bright colored lures so those fish can see your bait. Another Technique that can help find some fish in these dirty waters is any bait that disrupts the water, a bladed swim bait or top water spook can really trigger redfish and trout to hitting your bait. If you want to stick to live bait your best bet is to fish the beginning of low tide for the cleanest water and the greatest chance for those fish to find your hook. This time of the year is well known for the flood tide, which is a great time to target those redfish. If you can get out and get skinny grab that pole because they are tailing! Most people think that only those micro skiffs and jon boats can enjoy the flood tide but thats not true. Finding skinny creeks that aren't usually accessible and using your trolling motor to look for tailing reds on either side of you can work just as well. Remember you can't catch fish on the couch!

Hunting

If you haven't gotten out yet to shoot some mud chickens grab that shotgun and some bird shot and get at em! Finding these birds is real easy, grab a paddle and slap the water and listen for there calls. Another way to find them is targeting the thick patches of marsh.

Forecast

The forecast looks like very high winds with rain until Saturday evening, then winds from 1-7 mph until Wednesday when another nor-easter will make land fall. Low tides in the afternoon and high tides morning and evening for the next weeks.
